Seashore..

Seashore..

Title: Seashore
Size: 8.5" X 11"
Oil on Canvass
Frame: Yes

Growing up away from the beach there is a something about the beach that I could associate relaxation.Every summer we look forward to a time with the beach and that summer may seem incomplete without a trip to the beach. For those who love the beach like I am I hope you see the beach as I do.Philippines have some of the best beach in the world, and you can never get enough of going from one beach and to another every year. Each time you come there is always this new place has to offer whether its a clear water or powdered white sands or the friendly people to meet.

Koi for Good luck!

Title: Koi
Size: 24" X 24"
Oil on Canvass

It has been quite a while since my last post.I apologize for not being able to post on this blog as frequent as I could but it does not mean that I did not paint at all.
for me painting takes a lot of inspiration rather than time, you may have lots of time but not inspired to do anything, yet you may make something out of the little time you have when you are inspired.

They say the koi- Japanese carp brings good luck to everyone.
Happy New year everyone!
This piece is very popular among viewers. A complex piece which took me almost a month to complete due to the layers.
This piece will be the first and I am looking forward on making more variations of it.
The image may have a little variation. It much brighter in actual than in this image.

"One summer afternoon at Mangodlong" Follow up

Title: "One summer afternoon at Mangodlong"
Landscape Painting
Brand New
Oil on canvass Size:45.75 cm x 61 cm x 2 cm
Frame:None
This painting is one of my favorite, It is quite done, and it reminds me of the feelings that I had felt that summer afternoon at Mangodlong beach Camotes Island Philippines. A feeling of peace, far away from the crowd, the traffic, the smoke, the noisy busy city life. It is good to find a relief from the city every year and for all that penny spent during that vacation, it is all worth it, after that trip, I felt that my batteries are fully charged, lungs cleared, and ready to face the codes(work) again. I want to share this feeling for those of you who are reading my post, Just to see the tiny houses beside the road on the Camotes Island is really inspiring, clean, organized, what more to see the beach. I encourage everyone to take a vacation specially those city people like me. I will post the picture once a got a clear copy for my audience to see

'A peek at Mt. Kitanglad'

Here is my update for my next piece.
As every piece has its own challenge. for me the challenge was to get whatever is left of my memory to the canvass. Being able to visit Cagayan de Oro City  and province of Bukidnon in Mindanao last July 2011.

I was inspired to paint the beauty that I see everyday. A shy mountain always hiding from the clouds and fog in the morning came out one fine sunny morning. The sky was yellowish blue with grey clouds slowly fading and Mt Kitanglad showing her pressence.
The painting is nearly complete it, now it requires few more finishing touches and top coating.
I will update this post and attach the picture of the painting that is 'A peek at Mt. Kitanglad'.

The CCP Kulo Scandal

My thoughts on the CCP -Kulo Scandal.

I consider myself a part time blogger, a part time artist, and as much as possible I kept my distance from the current issues and focus my attention on creating more pieces of art to show my audience a new piece at least every month to inspire them to engage in activities which they like and enjoy.
I enjoy painting, Its like a piece of memory preserved on a canvass for everyone else would see.
But there is this one event that captured my attention. When a so called artist chose religious items as a subject and experimented with it even in an imaginable way. This is clearly contradictory to my belief that art is supposed to make its audience feel somehow a little good , by appreciating art just by looking at it, you will be amazed how he the artist does it and get inspired. This is totally opposite of what I felt when I saw the pictures from the "Kulo"  exhibit. The term 'kulo' which means boil in English literally had my blood boiling. How could the management of the Cultural Center of the Philippines allow such show of sacrilege?
Where is the respect for the Catholic church?
How could this happen to a catholic country that a person who calls himself artist played on what other people hold sacred.
I can't imagine the hurt that the devotee of the Black Nazarene would feel about this.
Truly these are all man made Images, But they are symbol of faith for Catholics.
Artist or not everyone should be responsible for each one's action and I am sad for that artist.
He should have considered a lot of things or perhaps kept his art for himself.

Next piece: A peek at Mt. Kitanglad

"A peek at Mt. Kitanglad"

I was assigned in Bukidnon last July and I can't help but notice that mountain view from the place we stayed.
The weather is always cloudy with occasional rain showers.During those times. The mountain was always covered with fog and merely see the middle.
Then one fine morning. It was really warm that day. I saw the whole shape of the mountain.and immediately took my camera to capture the moment.
This will be my next project. "A peek at Mt. Kitanglad " of Bukidnon province, in the Island of Mindanao.Surrounded by pineapple plantations. and friendly folks.
